You prepare for winter by having your radiators checked, then adjusting the thermostats and having your chimneys swept, so prepare for summer! Here are a few essential tips to help you prepare for the summer heatwave. <\/p>\n

A heatwave of rare intensity<\/h2>\n

France, and indeed the whole of Europe, was hit by a heatwave of rare intensity. Temperatures of up to 46\u00b0C were recorded in June and 42\u00b0C in July. Specialists say that climate change has a lot to do with it. <\/p>\n

Such high temperatures are unpleasant. They dampen spirits and moods, and make you want nothing more. What’s more, they’re dangerous for the frail, the elderly, infants, children and our pets. <\/p>\n

Tips to help you cope with the heat<\/h2>\n

– Stay well hydrated throughout the day. Mainly water, herbal teas and tea. Avoid sugary and fizzy drinks as much as possible. <\/p>\n

– Eat well. Remember that a lot of water comes from eating fruit and vegetables. <\/p>\n

– Close windows and shutters during the day. Only open them in the evening, when it’s cooler. <\/p>\n

– Think about cooling down and getting wet. This is best done with a misting fan system. <\/p>\n

– Avoid physical activities that require the body to draw on its water reserves<\/p>\n
